Wanted: Your Memories

Part of the fun in developing an alumni association for our schools is in creating a history that can be passed on to our children and grandchildren. We are now accumulating pictures, stories and remembrances that could be shared other alumni.

Send copies of your photos (please no originals) with a short description to: Council Bluffs Schools Alumni Association, 300 W Broadway, Suite 212, Council Bluffs, IA 51503. If you have digital copies of pictures, they may be sent via e-mail to: Cbalumni@cef.svcoxmail.com.

We are looking for stories to include in the newsletters and on the web page and would encourage you to send your remembrances to us either for publication or to be maintained as part of the history of our schools. We are seeking your memories about your elementary, junior high or senior high experiences.

Want answers to these questions?? Then go the cbalumni.org and check out the message board. While you’re there, sign up to be a member of the Alumni Association, as well as the message board. This is a great tool for keeping in touch with those who attended a Council Bluffs school! We also would like your input on social activities. Fill out the online survey to let us know your interests and to help us determine what events we should host in the future!

Also, this is the site with the latest updates on what is going on with the Alumni Association. In the past year we’ve hosted a tailgate and had a float in the annual Pride Week Parade. We have also participated in a few other activities to reach as many graduates as possible; created a wreath for the Ameristar contest in December and had a booth at the Volunteer Fair at the CB Library in March. We also extended a special invitation to our 2005 graduates and district retirees to join us.

I would like to thank my fellow members of the board who have volunteered to help get the organization off to a great start! This group has truly been a joy because everyone is enthused about the creation and potential of this Association.

We have formed several committees within the Alumni board, which include History, Social, Sponsorships, Reunion Support and Marketing/Publicity. These committees will be working on projects throughout the coming year.
